Steamy Excerpt – A Clockwork Butterfly by Tabitha Rayne

Lovers torn apart by duty…will Angelo and Lena be reunited?
Mankind is close to extinction. Toxins have all but wiped out the male population. The remaining fertile men are housed in manors where their seed is collected.
Lena Lee is a new collector with a rare pheromone believed to reignite human fertility. She's assigned a male who's predicted to be her perfect match.
Angelo, a clockwork butterfly maker, is held captive, his essence harvested daily by Lena. Over time, the couple begins to fall in love, something which is strictly prohibited. When their forbidden love is discovered, Lena is banished from the manor.
Torn apart by the duty that brought them together, Lena and Angelo must find a way back to each other. But even if Angelo manages to escape, he doesn't know where to find Lena. Will following the path of the clockwork butterfly lead him to his true love?
Content Warning: strong language, BDSM, and graphic sexual content, including m/f, f/f, and f/f/m sexual interaction
Lena picked up the copper butterfly carefully in her fingertips. It was exquisite, and she never tired of studying Angelo's craftsmanship. It gently, as if it were real, flapped its wings to reveal a new delicate carving on them.
"What's this?" She sat up, tucking her legs underneath her, and tried to coax them open again. Angelo was smiling beside her.
"Touch the proboscis." He motioned and Lena reached out to the feathery spiral. As her fingertip made contact, the wings opened again and rested there for her to see the new artwork. In the most intricate script were carved the words I love you.
Lena didn't quite know what to do, say, or think until Angelo lifted the butterfly from her and tossed it up in the air, then pushed her on to her back, showering her with ferocious kisses. She watched the tiny creature flutter this way and that around the room while her body melted into Angelo's embrace.
"I want to eat you up, ravish you, and come inside you," said Angelo into her peaking flesh. When he was working her with his agile tongue, her entire skin became erogenous and she could barely think for the pleasure. Stars twinkled and burst wherever he kissed and Lena wriggled as his teeth joined in, raking her flesh and arousing every part of her.
"Angelo, stop. You've paralyzed me! Let me pleasure you now." But the truth was she could have lay there for all eternity, succumbing to his loving.
He slipped his hands up underneath her back and pulled her robe over her head, using it to pin her to the armrest. Her arms and face were wrapped in the silk while the rest of her was exposed and naked. She arched her back, knowing that he was drinking in the sight of her. A throaty groan was released from him as he touched first one nipple then both, circling them with his fingertips and then grabbing her breasts and kneading them. It was sublime and every now and then, he would lean in a little further, allowing her to feel his rock hard erection against her upper thigh. Liquid trickled from her down into the crack of her buttocks then on to the velvet sofa. She was hot and sticky and needed to part her legs and open herself up to him. Angelo had other ideas.
"Are you hot, my love?" he asked.
She could hear in his voice that he was smiling and made ready to spread her thighs for him. She couldn't. Angelo had another strap. She thought it must be the obi from his own kimono, but then realized it felt thick and lush, like velvet. A curtain tie? Lifting both her legs with one arm, he pushed the strapping under her and then over the top, winding and winding it around her thighs then knees then all the way down to her ankles.
She wriggled in her restraints, enjoying the feeling of being bound. She couldn't quite understand how he would make love to her with her legs welded together like this.
The strap was finally knotted with a snap and Angelo snaked his way back up to her breasts, caressing and teasing her. Her breath was fierce and hot and held close to her face by the silk bindings over her arms and head. Arousal was taking over and her sex felt so empty. She coiled herself around his embraces and he kissed her neck near her ear.
"Angelo, I need you." Lena was gasping and grinding her own juices into her thighs, soaking her tight constraints. "Take me, Angelo. Release me and take me!"
"I'll never release you," he said wickedly, and as if she was a rag doll, flipped her swiftly over onto her front.

A Time to Give Thanks
For those of us in the United States, this week we'll be celebrating Thanksgiving, where we take time to give thanks for all the good things in our lives (and eat lots of food, and for one day we don't worry about how many calories those foods contain).
This year I'm very thankful for the growth and success of our company. I'm thankful for our wonderful authors, who write such great stories. And I'm thankful for our staff—the editors, the cover artists, etc—who work so hard on preparing those stories for publication. But I'm most thankful for you—our readers—because without you, Beachwalk Press wouldn't exist.
I've asked some of our authors to share what they're thankful for this year…
M. A. Stacie: I'm thankful for my hubby and three amazing boys. And my life would be boring without my magnificent friends.
Tamaria Soana: I'm thankful for family and friends!
Ashlynn Monroe: I'm thankful for my family, my friends, and the fact that I'm able to do something I love (writing). There's no better feeling than knowing the thing that makes me happy gives someone else an escape from their everyday worries.
Sidda Lee Tate: I'm thankful for the wonderful support I receive from my family.
Kaylie Newell: This season, I'm thankful for so many things. Family, wonderful friends, our health. I'm also thankful for my brand new writing career—something I've dreamed of since I was knee high to a grasshopper
I'm thankful for my publisher and amazing editor. And I'm especially thankful for new readers who decided to take a chance and pick up a book by an unknown author this year. Not just my books, but all of my fellow new authors' stories. What a gift that is, and one I'm incredibly lucky to have.
Ella Jade: I have a lot to be thankful for this year. I have a wonderful husband and two beautiful, happy, and healthy children. My boys are my world, and I'm grateful to share my life with them. I'm also appreciative of the readers and friends I've picked up this year through my writing. My stories have always been a hobby. I've been getting lost in my plots and characters for years, but to finally be able to share my creations with all of you as an author is a dream come true. Thank you for taking this journey with me. I wish all of you a happy and blessed Thanksgiving Day.
Pepper Anthony: This year, I am particularly appreciative of my excellent health. Last year I was diagnosed with uterine cancer. I went through surgery, five months of chemo, and some icky radiation treatments. While I did very well with most of the treatments, I did develop what is known as "chemo brain". My thought processes got foggy and my creative flow just kind of dried up. As an artist and writer, that was just about the most distressing part of the whole thing. I was afraid that I might be among the 40% of cancer patients who do not recover their full cognitive abilities following chemo. Happily, that has not been the case. Not only did my recent CT scans show "no evidence of disease", but my mind has fully recovered too. The human body is an amazing, resilient hunk of stuff. This Thanksgiving, celebrate your good health along with me!
Lacey Wolfe: What I'm thankful for has been on my mind a lot lately. And the one thing I keep coming back to is my husband. When we found out I was pregnant with my son (who is now 8), he agreed to let me stay home and raise our children. Both my children are now in school and instead of telling me to go get a job that brings in a steady paycheck, he still lets me stay home and write all day. He never says anything if the house is a mess or the laundry is washed but in dire need of being folded. He listens to me complain as well as gets excited about my accomplishments. I've been with my husband for 11 & 1/2 years and I couldn't imagine spending my life with anyone else.
Mary Wehr: Although I'm thankful for my good health and having a loving, thoughtful husband by my side for the past thirty-three years, this Thanksgiving is going to be very, very special. Beachwalk Press came into my life and my life-long dream of becoming a published author has come true. Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
Patricia Bates: Gosh, there's so many things I'm thankful for. My family—including my wonderful son. He's the biggest miracle in my life and a constant source of inspiration and joy. My writing—the ability to share some of my creativity with others. And the fact that I have amazing publishers. I've been truly blessed to have so many wonderful contacts in this industry and I'm extremely thankful for the chances I have.
Stephanie Beck: 2012 brought lots of challenges, but I'm more thankful than ever. This year, I'm especially grateful for:
* My nephew Noah–born five weeks early, but doing great and safe at home with his mama and daddy who love him
* Nine years with my wonderful husband
* My three beautiful, healthy, loving children
* An exciting year of writing–and ambition to make next year even better
* My home with space for my kiddos to grow
* My church family who welcome us every day and share their joys
Happy Thanksgiving!
Tabitha Rayne: I am thankful for the creativity of human beings—seeing or experiencing something that someone has made inspires, sustains, and moves me. I am even more thankful that they share it. I'm thankful for most everything—love, health, joy, and even for the hard times as they make the good times more precious. But most of all, I'm thankful for fizzy astro belts (a very special candy) and good coffee.
Tara Mills: I love Thanksgiving. That’s when my three boys come home for a visit. My husband makes the turkey (a buttery champagne basted, croissant stuffed bird to die for), and I have an excuse to pop the first cork early and make mimosas for breakfast too. We crank the tunes and dance around as soon as there are signs of life from the bedrooms. After two pots of coffee are polished off, someone will suggest playing a game; it could be darts, ping pong, or a lively board game. Later, we'll take a hike through the woods with the three dogs. This year we'll have our new grandson coming up too. He's just four months old now. There's always time for lounging in the living room with your nose in a book or your Nook. We're a family of readers. Or my daughter-in-law will start a crossword puzzle and call out to everyone for help. Finishing becomes a group effort. But our boys have to earn their delicious dinner, and the alcohol that follows, by splitting and stacking firewood first. I love their ruddy cheeks when they come back inside, carrying the fresh clean smell of autumn with them.
And now, we want to know what YOU are thankful for. Everyone who leaves a comment will have their name placed in a drawing. On November 30th we will randomly draw four names, and those people will win a Beachwalk Press eBook of their choice. So don’t be shy—tell us what you’re thankful for!

Halloween Q&A With Beachwalk Press Authors
What is your favorite Halloween movie?
Ashlynn Monroe: The Lost Boys (It's not Halloween themed but it's perfect)
Lacey Wolfe: I'm not much of a scary movie person, but I like true stories. I want to know that this really happened. It scares me just a little more that way.
Stephanie Beck: I don't have one. Most Halloween movies are scary and I don't do scary movies.
Kaylie Newell: I love anything cheesy from the 80's. Right now, I’m a big fan of The Fog. I also love The 'Burbs. Even though it’s not specifically a Halloween movie, it’s Halloweenish and I always watch it this time of year. Who wouldn’t love Bruce Dern in his undies? (Okay, maybe not everyone.)
Ella Jade: I'm going to go with the original Halloween with Jamie Lee Curtis. I can remember watching that when I was a teenager at sleepovers. Michael Myers was extremely scary, and I think I may have even turned down some babysitting jobs after seeing that one. I was too scared to be in a house alone, especially when the kids went to bed.
Tabitha Rayne: The ultimate any time movie for me, but Halloween especially, is Donnie Darko—amazing!
Theresa Stillwagon: The original Halloween movie with Jaime Lee Curtis
What is your favorite Halloween candy?
Ashlynn Monroe: Twizzlers! The best part is I'm the only one I know who likes them so I get them from a ton of people the day after Halloween.
Lacey Wolfe: Dark chocolate Milky Ways…anything chocolate really
Stephanie Beck: Mmmmm, peanut butter cups.
Kaylie Newell: Candy Corn!
Ella Jade: Yeah, it doesn't have to be Halloween. lol I like Raisinets and Chunky's. These are my must haves when I go to the movies.
Tabitha Rayne: Astro Belts—long flat red straps coated with very sour sherbet. Ohh, my mouth is watering!
Theresa Stillwagon: Candy Corn
Your favorite Halloween costume?
Ashlynn Monroe: The year my daughter was three I found us matching Renaissance style princess costumes. That was so fun, and she was still at the age that dressing like me was cool. (She's a tween now so I miss those days!)
Lacey Wolfe: My favorite costume is when I dressed as a dead prom queen. I looked gruesome. I like the scary costumes.
Stephanie Beck: I love seeing little girls as pretty fairies. I prefer to dress as the mother of whatever my kids decide to be.
Kaylie Newell: I think my favorite was when I was a bottle of Elmer’s Glue in fifth grade. That was awesome.
Ella Jade: When I was a senior in high school I was Elvira. If you don't know who she was, google her, she was cool. I had the long black wig and the coolest black stilettos. I loved that costume. I totally thought I was the Mistress of the Dark.
Tabitha Rayne: I like looking ultra scary with black robes and a skeleton face—on stilts if possible (only very small ones, since I'm accident prone)
Theresa Stillwagon: A serving girl costume from the middle ages
What are your plans for this Halloween?
Ashlynn Monroe: Take the kids trick-or-treating, grab subs from the Cousin's sandwich shop (two for one on Halloween–yay!), then curl up with a good paranormal romance.
Lacey Wolfe: I have two children, and we live in the middle of nowhere so trick-or-treating is really scarce around here. We will probably do a few houses near us and then maybe some crafts here at home.
Stephanie Beck: I plan to take my kids trick-or-treating and hopefully be home 'checking' their candy by nine o'clock.
Kaylie Newell: We’ll be taking the little ones trick-or-treating at a friend’s house. It’s pretty fun. We always have spaghetti and meatballs, and apple crisp for dessert. And of course, we’ll be sneaking candy from the kids' sacks as well.
Ella Jade: We take the kids trick-or-treating every year and then we come back to our house and order pizza. It’s been a tradition for many years. My boys have several cousins so it’s like a mini-Halloween party. They trade candy and eat my decorative Halloween cupcakes.
This year my boys are still in mourning over the Phillies not making the World Series (they were ready for a parade, lol), so they are keeping the spirit alive. One is going to be Carlos Ruiz and the other Shane Victorino. Gotta love their enthusiasm.
Tabitha Rayne: I’m taking part in Whipped Cream / Goddess Fish Haunting Halloween Blog Fest (http://www.longandshortreviews.com/promo.htm) and I will be a scary storyteller at a spooky party.
Theresa Stillwagon: Not much. We're moving into a new apartment on the first of November, hopefully. Going to be pulling stuff out of storage.
Jack-O-Lantern: friendly/funny face or scary one?
Ashlynn Monroe: I love the scary ones. One year I did the headless horseman and it was so cool it was the only one on the block the kids didn't smash lol. I took the fact that they spared it as the highest of compliments.
Lacey Wolfe: We usually have one with a funny face. The other we let the kids draw on and then we carve it.
Stephanie Beck: Friendly and funny jack-o-lanterns are nice, but the classic triangle eyes and jagged mouths will always be my favorites.
Kaylie Newell: Friendly/funny. I usually give my pumpkin crooked teeth and crossed eyes. And yes, mine is usually the first one the neighborhood teenagers decide to throw into the street on November 1st.
Ella Jade: Scary! It's Halloween!!! I'm all about spooky! This year I'm trying to get my husband to do one with an intricate spider web with the word "Wicked" intertwined. We'll see…
Tabitha Rayne: Scary!
